Superplastic Wide-Width Magnesium Alloy Sheet and Strip

Magnesium and magnesium alloys exhibit a hexagonal close-packed crystal structure, resulting in poor formability and insufficient deformation capability in end-use applications to meet market demands. The company has now successfully overcome the longstanding international challenge of poor stamping performance in magnesium alloy sheet and strip products. Using a continuous casting–continuous rolling process, the company produces high-strength, high-toughness, superplastic sheet and strip with thicknesses ranging from 0.5 to 10 mm and widths up to 800 mm, whose mechanical properties and other performance characteristics outperform those of existing magnesium alloy grades.
